BIO

Clementine was born in London but spent much of her childhood in America, just outside of New York. She has played the violin since the age of 3, being one of the original ‘Suzuki kids’ in the then pioneering program in 1970s London. In her music she has retained a childhood joy of collaboration and learning which she attributes to her early experiences with the Suzuki Method. She graduated cum Laude from Columbia University in the City of New York before moving back to London to pursue music.

Clementine subsequently studied composition at Guildhall School of Music but soon found herself immersed back in her original passion, the violin. Her classical background has expanded to include forays into Indian music, folk, blues, rock and jazz. She has studied jazz violin with Joe Townsend from Trinity Laban, Jazz violinist Chris Haigh, and most recently gipsy jazz with celebrated violinist Tcha Limberger. She is a versatile musician and most enjoys collaborating with artists from different backgrounds.

Clementine currently divides her time between session work and playing with bands. She also teaches violin at Lyndhurst Primary School in South London, and has a number of private students as well. She is based in Hackney, East London.
